At Rocian Gracie Jr. NYC, we understand that many people have busy work schedules and may struggle to find time for exercise. That’s why we offer BJJ classes throughout the day, from early morning to late evening. Our facility is open every day from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., so you can find a time that works for you.

We’ve recently added Judo and women’s classes to our schedule, providing even more opportunities for students to learn and grow. Our Judo classes are taught by experienced instructors and offer a unique perspective on grappling and self-defense. Our women’s classes are designed specifically for women and focus on building strength, confidence, and self-defense skills.

Morning Classes

Coach Andrew teaches morning classes that are perfect for students who want to train before work. The hour-long classes cover warm-ups, techniques, sparring, and stretches, making them an ideal option for those with busy schedules. We also offer Friday No-Gi classes based on belt promotion schedules.

Afternoon Classes 

Our afternoon BJJ classes are perfect for students who have work early in the morning or late at night. These classes offer a mix of Gi and No-Gi options, providing a well-rounded training experience.

Evening Classes

Join Professor Marlon’s early evening BJJ classes for a comprehensive workout covering warm-ups, technique, drills, and sparring. With weekly themes for white, blue, and purple belts, you’ll have a clear roadmap for progress and focus on the skills most relevant to your experience. BJJ with Gi (fundamentals)

New students should attend Monday and Wednesday classes to learn fundamental movements, positions, techniques, and more.

Competition BJJ with Gi

Advanced students join our competition class for a more demanding workout with advanced techniques, drills, competition-style stand-up, and sparring. You’ll learn guards, sweeps, attacks, passing, takedowns, defense, wrestling, and more to improve your skills.

Late Evening Classes

Late-night classes include Judo, no-gi, women’s, and open mat classes to supplement students’ training. Judo provides stand-up training, No-Gi offers wrestling-style training, and Women’s Only classes provide drilling and sparring opportunities. Open mat sessions allow students to drill techniques, roll, and work on topics outside the regular curriculum. We’ll soon offer additional wrestling classes as well.

  • Show up on time
  • Stay hydrated and time your meals/snacks before class
  • Bring mouth guard and water
  • Come clean, cut your toe/fingernails
  • Wash your training gear (gi, belts, rash guards) after every use.
  • Follow the instructor’s technique and details, and ask questions if you have any.
  • Be respectful on and off the mat (tap early!)
  • Seek advice; we’re an open book
  • Greet and say bye to your classmates!

Free Armbars + Free Trial Class!

Our team has a strong sense of community, and we invite you to try a free class (1.5 hours)! In your first class, you’ll learn how to perform an armbar, escape an armbar, and the basic concepts of BJJ! You’ll get to wear a BJJ kimono, try out our class warm-ups, and gain a few BJJ  techniques with no commitment required.
